The acclimatisation has come to its end. Yesterday, May 11 2012, I descended together with Tenzing from the "Südsattel". We spent the night up there at almost 8000 meters. We had the entire South Col for us. Only a small tent and quite some equipment deposit.
In a couple of days up there a small village will be built, as soon as the good weather window will be announced. We are both well prepared. Now we have to wait too. Until then we take it easy.Â
Tenzing is 21 years old and from Nepal. Actually he wanted to work at the Everest by carrying equipment. But then his order has been cancelled. I have been knowing Tenzing for several years. So he has decided to try to summit Everest without oxygen and we came together. Don Bowie - my actual partner for this expdition - has cancelled too.Â
So far we are going along well together. Tenzing likes the salami and cheese at the "Südsattel" and I got used to the Nepalese music on the iPhone.
